Rhythms of Justice

Looking at Rhythms of Justice as a church familia has been such a meaningful way to enter into the new year together. We especially encourage you to join us this Sunday as our dear sister, Glendar Haskin, brings the Word! She last preached in our church nearly two years ago, but her invitation for us to abide in Christ’s love is a word I’m still holding today! She’s also bringing along family members that I believe are going to bless us in worship in a big way! Come ready to sing, y’all!

Our Team is Growing!

We are officially making our first hire outside of the two of us as pastors! Joel Yoshonis is joining the team in a part-time role to be our Creative Director of Worship & Arts! Joel has led us since we were in the early Zoom days of our church. He, his wife Liz, and their beautiful kids call our church their home.

The vision for this role is for Joel to help cultivate a Worship & Arts Collective at our church — a beautifully diverse team of folks — who will put their heads and hearts together to co-create in ways that draw us to God. You can hear from Joel here (at the 8:30 mark) as he shared this past Sunday about his hopes in this new role. He also offered an invitation to anyone wanting to collaborate in a growing worship & arts collective within our familia. You can email Joel here to reach out!

Lent & Sacred Pathways

Yesterday, we entered into the Lenten season through Ash Wednesday. And it was such an honor to share that sacred space together. This year, our focus is Holy & Whole. We’ll be reflecting on God’s invitation to see ourselves, through the lens of Christ, as those who are indeed Holy & Whole. And in so doing, to practice a holistic faith that embodies a richer fullness of all we are.

One way we’ll be doing so is by coming together on Friday, March 3rd at Noon over our lunch breaks for a Soul Care workshop called Sacred Pathways. So often we’ve been told the only way to connect with God is through a 15-minute quiet time in our living room. But God created each of us uniquely to connect our humanity to God’s divinity in beautifully meaningful ways. If you’re curious to learn more about who you are in this way, you can RSVP here to receive the Zoom link and additional info!

Hope you have a wonderful week, familia! Stay warm and dry amidst all the cold and rain! But also, don’t forget to get out in the midst of it and have a little fun!
