Dear Familia,
Last Sunday was one of the most monumental moments in our church’s shared history: we officially launched our first-ever Community Groups! Some of the groups will be gatherings in homes. Others will be online. Some will be centered on the regular rhythms of all of life. Others will be more topically rooted in a specific issue. But all of them will be opportunities for our familia to come closer together. To lean in and listen and learn. And in so doing, to love. I believe love really is the impetus and the invitation in this season. To love and be loved. And I know we’ll find that more and more in the context of true community.
Community Groups
So…if you’re feeling some sort of that sacred combination of vulnerable and brave and you want to sign up for a group, we’d love to have you join us on this journey! You can look into all the groups here and sign up for one as well. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email us. We’d love to do anything we can to help you get connected!
Middle School / High School Group
Something else brand new we’ll be rolling out this Sunday will be our first-ever small group for our middle schoolers and high schoolers! They’ll join us in the main service through worship. And then before the sermon, we’ll dismiss this crew to the courtyard to have their own time together. We’re chugging Mountain Dew like middle schoolers in anticipation of the extra caffeinated joy this space is gonna bring! Okay. Maybe that was a bit much. But you get the point!
We are also super thrilled that Mindy Melgar and Josh Tien will be co-leading our MS/HS students. If you are a parent of a student this age, Mindy and Josh have put together a short survey to gather some information that would very helpful for them. Please take just a moment to fill this out, knowing it will be a win for all involved.
Let’s Hike Together
Lastly, we’re already looking forward to next Saturday, Oct 29. Jen & Serena will be getting us into the great outdoors so we can hike together as a church fam! This is open to any and everyone. So don’t hesitate to invite a friend. Here are the all-important deets: North Arroyo Loop, Pasadena. 2.1 miles. We’ll meet in the parking lot at Rosemount Ave and W Washington Blvd at 10 AM. Optional brunch at 12:00 PM at HomeState Pasadena whether or not you hiked.
Familia, we hope you see the thread in all these things: that the Spirit is moving us closer to one another. And that in that call, there’s a throughline of great love growing among us as a Beloved Community. We’re so encouraged and excited. And we hope you are too!
