3 Big Announcements!

Church familia,

Here are 3 Big Things going on in the life of our church!

1. Baptisms!
We’re having our first ever church-wide baptism service on Sunday, June 12th! We already have a few people committed! And so we just.can’t.wait! for the nueva vida celebración our church familia will share that day! Reach out to Pastora Inés or Pastor Bobby if baptism is something you are interested in or have questions about. We’d love to connect with you!

2. Cultivating Community
We’re in the process of creating new spaces for connection for our people outside of Sunday services. One of those gatherings we want to highlight this week is taking place this Sunday evening at 7 PM — as it does every 3rd Sunday evening. Our friends, Sarah Obermeyer and Sarah Dornbos host an online space for Contemplative Practices. We’re putting the Zoom link here below. And the Sarahs tell us there will be an optional time to connect afterward for those who attend. We couldn’t recommend time with them enough!

3. No Sunday Service — Memorial Day Weekend
We have decided to pursue Sabbath rest as a church community for the weekend of May 27-29. That means No Sunday Service on May 29th. What that doesn’t mean, though, is that you should do the whole weekend in isolation. Instead, we’re encouraging just the opposite!

Go ahead and start making plans to have someone (or someones!) over for dinner! Go on a hike with some people. Arrange a meet-at-the-beach day. See if there’s a local art exhibit you’re interested in. Or finally, go to that restaurant you’ve been wanting to get to! The weekend is your oyster!

We believe Sabbath is often practiced healthily in solitude. But other times, the rest we need can actually be found in relationships with others! We need one another. So we’re excited to hear the stories of how our people connect with one another in new ways over that weekend.

Looking forward to seeing all your faces this Sunday at 4 PM!
